How To Use Tea
Tree Oil
for Acne
Treatment
Mild acne cases are usually best cared for by topical
ointments. But a good acne treatment program starts
with an at-home acne skin care routine. This is where tea
tree oil can play an important part. Tea tree oil has
been used successfully as a natural cleanser for decades. Tea
tree oil is extracted from the tea tree plant (Melaleuca
alternifolia). When used in high concentrations, the
results have been nothing less than remarkable.
Tea tree oil is well known
for its numerous beneficial effects as a natural, deep
cleansing, antibacterial, antiseptic, antifungal, antiviral and
antimicrobial agent as well as an immuno-stimulant. Therefore,
acne skin care products using tea tree oil have the
ability to deep clean oily or troubled skin, like acne,
and help to remove harmful bacteria from the
skin.
More difficult cases of acne may be best treated in a
variety of ways including oral antibiotics, ointments, and
physical treatments such as chemical peels and drainage.
Physical treatments must be performed by a dermatologist.
Although squeezing pimples is a form of physical treatment, it
is ill-advised. It can cause acne-causing bacteria to spread
and may promote scarring. Physical remedies performed in
controlled problems reduce the chance of risk while providing a
positive experience.
