Oral Herbal Acne
Medication
Mild acne conditions are usually best treated by topical
ointments. More extreme cases may be best treated through
a multitude of acne
medication options, such as, oral antibiotics,
ointments, and physical treatments such as chemical peels and
drainage.
Physical cures must be dispensed by a dermatologist.
Although bursting pimples is a form of physical treatment, it
is ill-advised. It can lead to acne-causing bacteria to spread
and may cause scarring. Physical procedures used in controlled
cases confine risk while providing a positive experience.
Laser Therapy
Laser therapy is valuable for treating the scars from acne.
Laser therapy can be utilized for both surface level scarring
and deep tissue scarring from either severe acne afflictions.
Research is presently being dispensed on the use of lasers for
acne routines. Various approaches are being studied - burning
away the follical sac which produces the hair; burning away the
gland which produces sebum; and forming oxygen in the bacteria
to wipe out them. The therapy is not yet known if laser acne
routines can result in deep damage to the skin.
Exfoliation
The top layer of skin can be eliminated either
chemically or applying abrasion. Chemical peels are
performed applying salicylic acid or glycolic acid. These
work by eradicating a microscopic layer of skin cells to
unclog pores and get rid of the buildup of dead cells. The
same outcome can be reached by applying an abrasive cloth
or liquid scrub. Glycolic acid remedies can be performed
every 2 to 4 weeks over a timeline of about six months.
Notwithstanding, salicylic acid treatments are less
iritating and are often utilized in over-the-counter
medications. They can be used each day.
Drainage
Difficult acne can periodically cause cysts to form under
the skin. These cysts can be painful and disfiguring. Smaller
cysts can be handled by using cortisone injections which
flatten out the lesion in a day or two. Larger cysts probably
should be drained and surgically taken away. Drainage can cut
back the pain associated applying cysts and also reduce the
chance of scarring. It is done in the dermatologists office
with sterile instruments. It is crucial not to exercise to
drain cysts at home due to the risk of infection which could
result in lasting scarring.
Light Therapy
Light therapy is sometimes utilized to combat the acnes
bacteria that cause acne. It is particularly useful in treating
difficult areas but may have a short term effect. The treatment
unfortunately ignores the production of sebum or the layering
of dead skin cells.
